Agro industrial building

With 6600m2 built area in a 5 ha plot, in the region of Asientos, Aguascalientes, in the center of the Mexican Republic. It is part of the state project “Agrósfera”, a plan which aims to improve the logistics and production resources of the local small and medium scale agro industry. A new Agropark and 3 or 4 Rural Transformation Centers (RTC) are foreseen as part of the project. RTC Asientos is the pilot one. The RTC core is the productive part: packing halls, cold storages, logistic areas and demonstrative land. A communitarian and education center are part of the RTC  institutional presence, offering an attractive programmatic mix targetted both to the small agro producer and their community.  Architectonically, the complex is a series of boxes intertwined by a colourful metallic structure, creating a contained design but open to the landscape. This scheme has a modular basis, which enables future integrated extensions.
